How We Automated Product Posting and Blog Creation Using n8n and OpenAI A Scalable Solution for Content Teams

At Dignity Infoway, one of our internal workflows required publishing multiple product entries and writing corresponding blog content. The process was slow, repetitive, and difficult to scale. So, we built a smart solution using two powerful tools: n8n and OpenAI and it changed everything.
⚙️ The Problem: Repetition Drains Productivity
Like many businesses, we were manually:
- Collecting product details
- Downloading and uploading images
- Writing fresh blog content for each product
- Tagging, formatting, linking, and publishing it all
Even publishing just a few products and blogs a day consumed hours. It wasn’t sustainable. We needed a system that could do the work for us fast, consistent, and scalable.
🔧 The Solution: Automation with n8n and AI
We designed a custom automation pipeline using n8n, a powerful open-source workflow tool, and OpenAI, which helps generate high-quality content. Here’s how the automation works:
✅ Step 1: Fetch Product Data Automatically
We integrated with the Amazon API to retrieve product details like title, price, description, and image URLs.
✅ Step 2: Auto-Create WordPress Product Posts
Using the WordPress REST API, we automatically create new product posts in our custom post type. We populate fields like:
- Cost Price
- Sale Price
- Affiliate Link
- Product Image Gallery (uploaded directly from source URLs)
All of this is mapped to custom fields using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) without us touching the WordPress dashboard.
✅ Step 3: Generate Blog Content with AI
Based on each product’s data, we use OpenAI’s API to generate:
- A catchy blog title
- SEO-optimized content
- Meta description
- Related tags
- Featured image prompt
✅ Step 4: Create the AI-Generated Image
We pass the image prompt to OpenAI again to generate a visually engaging featured image perfect for blog display or social sharing.
✅ Step 5: Publish the Article
We create a standard WordPress blog post, populate it with the AI-generated content, link the related product (using a searchable field), set the image, apply tags and publish it instantly.
